2008 Election

Read an American newspaper at home or online and a newspaper from somewhere else on the world. You can find the newspapers on my website. Who does the newspaper report as a forerunner in his presidential race? List the newspaper, the name of the candidate, and the party he belongs to.

After reading one of the articles from the Oct.16 New York Times I think the forerunner is Sen. Obama. He is from the Democratic Party.

Jade, Great comments. It is interesting to see that a newspaper across the world is also quoting Obama as the forerunner. Was there a reason why the newspaper in New Zealand thought Obama might win?

by reading the Beijing review I also think that Sen. Obama is the forerunner.

Kendall, You did a great job of reading the two newspapers. Is there a reason why the Beijing papers think Obama will win the presidential race?

What I learned about the candidates in the Washington Post is that Barack Obama is the forerunner in the race for president. He is in the lead in a poll by 5 points. Barack Obama is in the Democratic Party.

In the German newspaper Deusche Welle it told me that Barack Obama is already ahead of John McCain in the opinion polls and he won an endorsement from Powell who was a former Secretary of State.

After reading one of the articles from the Oct.16, 08 New York Times Candidate John McCain is from the Republican Party and has his "Game Face On". While a prisoner of war in the Navy, Senator McCain realized the value of friendship. If elected as president, Senator McCain will be the oldest president to enter the office at age 72. He is the son and grandson of a 4 star admiral... I think Senator McCain would be a great President.

I read the Washington Post online today which is October 29. Obama in the Democratic Party, is leading in the President Campaign 52%. It also said that McCain was at 44%. McCain is in the Republican Party. But this could change with other people voting that have not yet.

Mrs. McGrath said...

Hanna, Don't forget to check an overseas newspaper as well.

In another paper, The Sun for London, England the president candidates are listed as Obama leading in the campaign 306. And McCain as 136 for the electoral votes. This means Obama, which is the Democratic candidate is winning.

I read an American article “Orlando Sentinel endorses Barack Obama for president”. I found that they endorse the Democrat Obama as the forerunner, and that he is in the lead by 10 percent. I also read a British article from the BBC News “Colin Powell Backs Obama”. It said that Obama was the forerunner and the Democrat just like the other news article said so both news articles from different countries agreed that Obama was in the lead.
