I watched a speech where John McCain was talking to the Kansas City VFW on April 17 2008. The speech was about supporting the military and how important that is. His opening of speech was good. His awareness of the audience was excellent since he was talking to people who were once soldiers. The organization of his speech was excellent. His choice of language was excellent because he used very big words. His forcefulness was excellent. His sincerity was excellent and his eye contact was excellent because he looked directly at everybody. His preparedness was excellent. His gestures were good, and his length of speech which was about 4 and a half minutes was good. I would vote for John McCain.
I watched Barak Obama's speech that my parents recorded for me in the DVR from 10/15/08. His opening of speech was good. His awareness of audience was fair because he was only looking at Bob Schieffer. The organization of speech was excellent. The choice language was good. Forcefulness was good. Sincerity was excellent because I believed what he said. His eye contact was excellent with Bob Schieffer. He was prepared for his speech, I gave him excellent in the score card. The gestures were excellent because he moved his hands alot like my mom.The length of the speech was fair because it was too long and it was hard to concentrate for that long.
I would vote for this speaker.
Dylan, Great job reviewing the speech. Don't forget to vote online as soon as you have finished all your blogs.

Barack Obama’s speech was great. He did good for his opening speech and excellent for his awareness of audience. He got an excellent for organization of speech because he was saying everything in a good order and he did not mix it all up. He also got an excellent on his choice of language because he spoke in a very proper tone, and he got an excellent for his forcefulness and an excellent for his eye contact because when he spoke, he looked at everyone. For his sincerity he got an excellent and an excellent for his preparedness because he didn’t mess up on any words. I think he did good on his gestures and length of speech. I didn’t think he had any weaknesses.

The organization of the speech was excellent. The choice of language was excellent. The forcefulness was good. The sincerity was good. The eye contact was good. The preparedness is excellent. The gestures were good. The length of speech was excellent and yes I would vote for this speaker.
Amanda- Great Job!
I watch the video of the 3rd campaign debate and the opening speech I thought it was good because John McCain said "This question is for candidate Barrack Obama." I thought the awareness of audience was fair because there wasn't really an audience. I thought the organization speech was good because when McCain spoke it was very organized and the same with Obama. I think the choice of language was good and the reason why is that I couldn't understand some of the words. I think the forcefulness was good because they where not shy and they where not mean. I think the sincerity was fair because it didn't really seem true. I think the eye contact was good because he looked at the person that he was talking to. I think for preparedness it was excellent. I think for the gestures it would have to be poor because they didn't really move. I think the length of the speech was pretty good because it wasn't to short and it wasn't too long. I would vote for John McCain.
Great job Madison.
I watched a speech on 10/15/2008 where Obama & McCain answered questions where they had to explain their goals if they were in office, and I think that Obama's answer was the best. He seemed more concerned with how to improve the econmy instead of making it worst and to me that is what we need.
I watched John McCain's speech accepting the Republican presidential nomination.
I rated the opening speech excellent because he talked about important stuff like how he would fight for justice.
The awareness of the audience was excellent since some of the people were once soldiers and some still soldiers.
The organization of the speech was excellent.
His choice of language was excellent because he used very big words.
His forcefulness was excellent.
His sincerity was excellent.
His eye contact was excellent because he looked at all the people in the audience. He was excellently prepared. His gestures were excellent because he used a lot of hand gestures. The length of the speech was excellent. I would definitely vote for John McCain.
Tyrone and Alexis. Great job. Don't forget the other questions.
I watched the speech of Senator Barack Obama campaigning with former President Bill Clinton in Kissimmee, FL on October 29, 2008. His opening speech was excellent because he started out being outgoing. His awareness of the audience was good. His organization of his speech was excellent. He was talking about how he would resolve the problems and to help us get thru the bad results of the last eight years. His choice of language was good and understandable. His forcefulness was excellent because he was not scared, nor shy, nor nervous. He was out there with a loud and confident voice. His sincerity was good because he seemed honest and talking about the real issues. His eye contact was excellent because he looked straight at the audience and not at the camera, with a straight honest face. The preparedness was excellent and well executed because he did not say much ums or long pauses. His gestures were good because he showed hand movements about what he was talking about. The length of the speech was good because it was not too long and boring. It was just right keeping the audience excited.
I would vote for Senator Barack Obama.
I watched the 3rd 2008 Presidential debate. I picked Obama to score. I thought his strengths included his speech opening, gestures and his awareness of the audience. I thought his weaknesses were his organization of his speech, his forcefulness and preparedness against McCain. The reasons I thought he did poorly in those areas were because I believe he was not ready when McCain talked about Joe “The Plummer” regarding tax cuts.
I watched a speech by Barack Obama at the Mile high stadium with a audience of 60,000 people in Denver CO.The speech was given Aug. 28th 2008. The speech was about supporting the military AND people who are loosing their 401k's and their retirement funds because their being gambled with by John McCain. His opening of his speech was excellent, and so was his eye contact and his choice of language was good because I actually under standed it. His forcefulness, gestures and his length of his speech were all excellent. His awareness of the audience was better than excellent because all the people listening were ALL DIE HARD FANS! The organization of his speech was still excellent as well as his preparedsess and sincerity. So DUH!!yes, I would vote for Barack Obama.
and it was helpful to him
and it was helpful to him
and it was helpful to barack
I watched a speech by John McCain he was talking to people in Fort Lauderdale
and his speech was mostly about supporting the military but i would
not like Obama because he is going to higher the taxes. I would Vote john McCain.
I watched another speech by barack obama today. It was about polotics and the 2 kinds of races. The speech was given May 18th this year.It was around this time when he had to give up on jeremiah right and his so called "racest" comments. He had absolutely no gestures. His opening of his speech was quiet,no cheering and very little clapping. The audience was almost silent the whole time. The organization of his speech was excellent ,so was his length and choise of language .And his forcefulness was off the peice of paper along with his sincerity, preparedness and eye contact. after this I dont know if i would vote for him.
Alex- McCain did pritty good giving a speech . I might vote for McCain.
Alex, use your scorecard to grade him on his speech. What impressed you.
Tucker, Great job.
Hanna. Use your scorecard to evaluate the speech.
Tucker. It was interesting how his speech affected you, and how you may change your mind based on how he presented himself during the speech. What does that tell you about talking in public?
Dylan M. This is a very thoughtful blog. Great job.
Michael, Great blog, you put a lot of thought into it.
Well, if you do a good job, people will like you. And if you do a bad job people will actually think again about voting for you. Today I watched 2 speeches by Mr.McCain and all he did was talk and look at the camara. No gestures, no awareness of the audience, no organization because he kept looking at his card over and over to see what heck he was talking about. No good opening, no sincerity, no forcefulness and no good choise of language. The only good thing about it was his eye contact. I would definetly not vote for john McCain.
and the speeches were talking about HIM and not the Real issues
Oh! it tels me that the more people there are watching you the more nervous, forgetting and even more nervous than you are when your talking to a small group.
I know barack is making taxes higher hannah, but how does that effect the kids, not adults?
sThe excellent things McCain did was opening of speech, organization of speech, sincerity, eye contact and length of speech. The things he did good on are awareness of audience, choice of language, and preparedness.Last, the things he did fare are forcefulness and gestures. I will vote for McCain.
I watched part of Barack Obamas speech on my DVR,and he said that he cares more about the people who need homes and money, and he really wants to help those people, and I thought that was a great idea when he said that.
I watched Barack Obama's speech on my DVR,and I liked it because he is caring about the people who need homes and money. He is thinking about change in this country. Thats what i liked about Barrack Obamas speech and yes i would vote for Barrack Obama.
Eric, Look at your scorecard, how did you rate the candidate based on your scorecard?
Great job Alex.
Great job Tucker.
Great job Kindall
Great job Jade.
I watched a speech where Barack Obama was talking to Orlando. The speech was about what he would do if he were the Pre. like ending the war in Iraq unlike McCain would do. His opening of the speech was good. His awarness of the audience was fair sence he was talking to people who would vote for him. The organization of the speech was fair and his choice of language was also fair. His forcefulness was last but not lest fair. His sencerity was good and his eye contact was excellent. His prepareness was excellent to and his gestures were poor! Now last but not lest his length of speech was ecellent. I would not vote for Barack Obama.
Great job Jacqueline.
I watched a speech that Barack Obama gave at the Democratic National Convention. His opening of speech was good, his awareness of the audience was excellent, his organization of his speech was good, his choice of language was excellent, his forcefulness was good, his sincerity was fair, his eye contact was excellent, his preparedness was excellent, his gestures were poor, and the length of his speech was excellent. Overall he did very well. I would vote Barack Obama.
I also watched John McCain give his speech at the Republican National Convention. His opening speech was excellent, his awareness of the audience was poor, his organization of his speech was good, his choice of language was good, his forcefulness was fair, his eye contact was poor, his preparedness was good, his gestures were poor, and the length of his speech was good. Overall I think he did average, but it was nothing special. I would not vote for John McCain.
I watched on TV McCains last campaign speech in Ohio on Oct.31st.
I think the openning was weak, his presenter (governor Shwasnager) showed more powerful words.
The crowd did show awarness and enthusiasm. His speech was well organized. He used simple language for all the crowd to understand.
He was forceful and kept repeating that he will not give up. His words sounded sincere. He had good posture and kept eye contact with all at the crowd.
I say his preparedness was poor because when he called for Joe the plumer, Joe was not there. So his campaign was not well prepared.
His gestures were positive and the speech was very long.
Great job Madison O'B and Fabrizio.
i think so too
I saw a speech when obama was talking in orlando. All of the ten things were excellent especilly his eye contact and his sincerity.
I would vote for Barak Obama.
Great job Jose
